12 Tammuz Video Screening / Farbrengen

In honor of the 12th of Tammuz, the 89th anniversary of the miraculous release of the Previous Rebbe from Soviet prison, Chabad of Flatbush will be hosting a special Farbrengen and screening of "Unvanquished - One Man's Heroic Battle" this coming Monday (8/17), 8:30 PM at Chabad House.

    Refreshments will be served

    Men and women are invited - separate seating


    About "The Unvanquished":

    This film, produced by Rabbi Yitzchok Kogan and ACC studios of Moscow, was shot in the very same places where this heroic and brave struggle took place 89 years ago.

    It begins in the Rebbe's actual apartment on 22 Machevaya Street in Leningrad and continues up the route of the arrest during the "white nights" of June 1927 into the infamous Shpalerka prison, on Shpalerna Avenue, just a few blocks away.

    Some of the most gut wrenching scenes of the arrest and torture are reenacted in the very same corridors of the still active, and largely unchanged, prison, under special permit.

    The film, in Russian and Yiddish, will be screened with English subtitles. It is a must watch experience, which you will surely appreciate.

     



    The month of Tammuz, traditionally a month of morning over the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash, in 5788 (1927) became a month of joy. This heralds the time of the Redemption, which is unfolding before us, which will reveal the inner meaning of the destruction - a step towards ever greater rebuilding. Read more here.
