As America marks the 250th anniversary of its founding, neighbors, families, and friends of every background are invited for a festive afternoon of inspiration, fun, and celebration — designed for the whole family, from the youngest children to grandparents. Enjoy uplifting words, live music, activities for the kids, and complimentary snacks, all in a truly one-of-a-kind setting. It's the first major public event at this newly rescued landmark — come as you are, and bring everyone.

The perfect place to celebrate 250 years of American freedom — a house that has stood for just as long.
The Wyckoff-Bennett Homestead has watched over East 22nd Street in Midwood for more than 250 years, making it among the oldest surviving structures in all of New York City. During the Revolutionary War, Hessian soldiers quartered within its walls etched their names into a windowpane — and local legend holds that George Washington himself once stopped here for tea. After years of vacancy and decline, Chabad of Flatbush rescued the property in December 2024, committing to its preservation and restoration.
As construction gets underway, the homestead's boarded windows now bear the words of America's founding fathers on faith, morality, and nationhood. The adjacent barn has already been transformed into a warm community sanctuary — hosting Hebrew school, Shabbos gatherings, and neighborhood events. This celebration marks the first major public event at the landmark, and a preview of the vibrant future ahead.
